History

M Industrial Design has roots. Our founders started in a basement of a house in the Hollywood hills. Gordon Mackay, Alan Johnson and Bob Emerson, three former schoolmates from Art Center College of Design, decided in 1954 that they had the passion, talent and vision to launch their own consulting design firm. No clients yet, just faith and the will to make it happen. Their optimism lives on in us.

M Design has created some of the most successful designs in industrial design history.  To name a few: the original Water Pik, the Shower Massage for WaterPik, the Thermoscan tympanic thermometer, the Total Gym and the Weber Q grill. These products alone have generated many billions of dollars in sales and in some cases created entire new industry segments.
